Galleries 3 and 4
Are devoted to the continuing, prolific activities of Islamic craftsmen and weapon makers throughout the 13th and 14th centuries AH/ 19th and 20th centuries AD.  During the later centuries increasing artistic exchanges took place between the Muslim world and Europe, and many of the artefacts represent the successful meeting between East and West. Today, Islamic art is very much alive and part of our collective heritage. It has succeeded in interpreting artistic traditions in contemporary ways that continue to appeal to all. Both in architecture and in the arts, its strong aesthetic and visual appeal can provide inspiration for everyone, regardless of their individual faith.
